London Still Rocks!

Last night, I hosted more storytelling with London Museums A-Z (LoMAZ)! courtesy of the Crick Crack Club (CCC). I only just the day before remembered to set up the WhatsApp group that we do for each event. This one was Dauntless , the true story of Granuaile (aka Grace O' Malley), female Irish pirate, who won an audience with Elizabeth I . Indeed, it's only from English records that we know about her at all! Happened at Hoxton Hall . I booked  Schnitzel Heaven beforehand.  Well, the buses played their usual game with me - I needed the #47 , but when it finally came, it was stopping short! Half an hour, I sat waiting for it - on the coldest day since spring! Everyone's commenting on the sudden plummet in temperatures - and although I'd put on a jumper for the first time in months, I was still shivering. Tonight, I was at My Name is Rachel Corrie , at Greenwich Theatre - based on the true story of an American activist who was killed when she stepped in front of an Israeli bulldozer that was going to demolish a Palestinian home. I was going with London Fun (LF) (which I joined by invitation from the organiser, a London Museums A-Z (LoMAZ) member..) - eating at the Greenwich Tavern beforehand. Well, I was a bit late leaving (what with the previous post ) - combine that with God-awful traffic, and not only did I not make my dinner booking, I didn't have time to eat at all! I will never take the bus here again - I shouldn't have been in time for the booking, even if I'd been in time leaving! Went straight to the theatre, ensconced myself by the bar, where my companion joined me in due course. Well.. flew back into London on Sunday night, with Aer Lingus because it was a bit cheaper than Ryanair  at short notice. Which meant I came into Heathrow . The flight was delayed.. how bad, I squeezed in a couple of glasses of wine while I waited. Unfortunately, this meant we were late into Heathrow.. and my only option was bus! So, I sought out the Central Bus Station in Heathrow, first time ever. It's findable.. and on the departures board, no fewer than five National Express departures for London Victoria  were listed, all leaving at 23.59. "Wait in Lounge", it said. I did for a while - it was about 23.30 - then thought it might behove me to buy a ticket. The app wasn't working, the ticket office was closed, the first of three machines in the wall wasn't working.
