London Still Rocks!

Yesterday, I was thinking of Life Support , a documentary about the medics operating in Gaza . Evening showing is in the Rio Dalston . But then I saw there was a comedy showing in Riverside Studios , called The Big Dog , about a married stockbroker whose savings are cleared out by a dominatrix. Thought I might have a look at that instead. But gee, it turned out to be one of those really changeable days.. because it turned into sort of an unofficial London Museums A-Z  (LoMAZ) day! Second in a row, then. One of  the organisers, Shelley, decided to do something for International Friendship Day , and we were to meet at Between the Bridges ! a free event with street food and such. They created a WhatsApp group for it - and 27 people joined.  I headed from the office on foot.. at least it's mostly downhill, what with that heavy laptop bag n all. Yesterday , I was back with CT for Ludwig: Unfinished Business , a comedy about Beethoven , showing in the Playground Theatre and performed by an actual pianist . Another Fringe preview. Eating in The Pavilion beforehand - and it's a good thing they reminded me on Monday, because I'd totally forgotten! Over an hour, no matter how I got there.. unless, perhaps, I flew, which wasn't practical. So, Tube it was.. and WOULD YOU BELIEVE IT, severe delays again. Signal failure again. How long has it been since the Jubilee Line was usable?! Took the Northern Line , therefore, to connect to the Central Line - which wasn't too bad; the aircon wasn't great, but it was there, and I got a seat after a couple of stops. A long and, frankly, boring walk to the pub followed - lots of terraced houses and gardens, a sports pitch, and a big flyover. O n Sunday - I was thinking of heading to see West End Live , the free performance snippets of West End shows, performed in Trafalgar Square .. always a good one! But then, on what was a very busy day for Meetup organisers, London Museums A-Z (LoMAZ) organised a guided walk! And as it was around my area, I could hardly resist - we were to meet in Starbucks before heading off on a Southwark Hysteries Solstice Special walk, as presented by Herstorical Tours , in the person of someone who gloried in the name of Lydia Chlamydia, and was a whore of Ancient Rome .. and Camilla did such a good job of selling it at the   Quentin Blake event that she got a good few more takers. I live not that far away - I could walk there. And miracle #3 of the weekend was that the sign I'd brought specifically for her, from Hever, the day before , as freshly laminated by Jonny, made it to Starbucks safely and was delivered! From Friday was supposed to be three more days of Meetup - that day, I booked with The Hideout for Disclosure Day , in which Emily Blunt plays a TV weather forecaster who suddenly finds herself communicating in a strange, clicking language, which only Josh O' Connor finds he can understand. Colin Firth seems to play a bad guy, as per the trailer. Directed by Spielberg again.. Now, when details were finally announced, it was in the Odeon Leicester Square , fair enough - but at 3.45pm?!! Talk about not catering to people with office jobs! So, four of us cancelled our attendance on foot of that - and decided to head, together, to the much more sensible 7.30pm showing in the same cinema! And for anyone that wants to join me, as I said, I booked for Bella Italia beforehand.
