London Still Rocks!

Last night,  The Hideout  was headed to see  Clown in a Cornfield , in the  Vue West End . However, I found what I thought was a better horror film, also showing in  Leicester Square , but in the  Cineworld  -  Detective Kien: The Headless Horror  is a  Vietnamese  film, set in the late 19th Century. Sadly, it started about the time the others were meeting for a social, or I'd have joined them. Anyway, I did, of course, head to  Bella Italia Cranbourn Street  beforehand, as usual. The bus driver actually decided, en route, to stop short - never mind, I changed to a more direct bus , and actually got there early! Was seated without problems, and dinner was as delicious as ever. Over dinner, I got a message from someone attending Clown in a Cornfield - I explained my situation, and he suggested we meet after our films were over, for a drink! So cool, I agreed to that. Now, with Hallowe'en on a Thursday.. and me taking it off.. well, I said it'd be a shame not to take Friday off too! So I did. Which left me free to join  Laurence Summers  and the  45+ Not Grumpies  on a walk about  The Wonderful Women of Westminster ! My quickest route involved a walk across Westminster Bridge - but the views are always great! I had fun pushing through the crowds, of course. We were to meet outside Portcullis House , which I could find - unfortunately, I started out on the wrong side of it! When I actually checked the address given on the event page, mind, I realised it must be on the river side .. and sure enough, there they were, and I even made it on time, this time. More or less. Yesterday's film, third in a row, was  Longlegs , the new horror film. Stars  Nicholas Cage  as the eponymous serial killer who leaves occult clues for a young, female  FBI  agent, Maika Monroe , to follow.. Obvious shades of  The Silence of the Lambs  there. And it's really highly rated - in fact, no executive decision required to go see it, it literally topped this week's list! (after I eliminated the ones whose trailers I groaned at). Trailer certainly looked fantastic - quite a visceral performance from the young agent. So, I would have gone to see it last Friday - except that  The Hideout  was seeing it yesterday, so I said I'd wait and see it with them. We were seeing it in the  Prince Charles , with drinks beforehand in  Clubhouse 5 . My journey would have been a little easier if my second bus hadn't decided to "change destination", dropping me short of where I needed to be - I could nearly have walked the rest, if another ...
