London Still Rocks!

Last night, back with  Up in the Cheap Seats  (UITCS) for  Kindling  in the  Park Theatre . It's a comedy about a group of perimenopausal women who go on a camping trip to scatter their friend's ashes. My companion from Monday went to that too, and we planned on heading to  Palmyra's Kitchen  afterwards. Or before, depending how quickly she got there.. Another thing I had to get the Tube to - both lines I got were packed, and I was standing. At least, on the Victoria Line , I got some air.. albeit lukewarm. My companion said she wouldn't make it till just before showtime - checking the theatre, I discovered (a) that I was the first there of the group, and (b) that the upstairs seating area was taken over by a function. Well, I was hungry, so took myself back to M&S for a sandwich - running into the organiser en route, headed in the other direction, to the theatre. Tonight, back with TAC at last for a concert called  Lux Aeterna , featuring different requiems in  St. Giles Cripplegate . Part of the  Summer Music in City Churches  series. Eating beforehand in  Cote Barbican  - all happening a bit later than yesterday, thankfully! Well, my perfect run of buses ended - the #47 took forever, and when it arrived, to the frustration of someone waiting with me, it was stopping short. Just went far enough for me, though. As I had just figured out which of the maze of streets I had to take, the restaurant texted to invite me to check in - reply "1" if I was on my way (it was now nearly five minutes past my booking time). I did so, so at least they knew to hold my table. I eventually made it about five minutes later, and was relieved to be out of the sun at last. Tonight, I discovered more storytelling -  Winter's Night Wonder Tales , as advertised on  Facebook  (how sensible), this was happening upstairs at  The Palmerston . Courtesy of Storyjam . Just saw it advertised as I was thinking of what to do tonight! It was going to be a long bus journey - Google Maps had me, in each direction, heading all the way around Elephant and Castle , only to turn right around and catch a bus going back in the other direction. Rubbish! I had a much shorter journey by getting off before Elephant and Castle and taking a shortcut along the appropriately named Elephant Street, circumventing Elephant and Castle - and its perpetual traffic - completely. Mind you, I had a bone to pick with Google Maps - Stop R , on Walworth Road , where I had to pick up my second, outbound bus, isn't at all where they say! After this week's film list was done, I decided what was on top wasn't as interesting as what   Up in the Cheap Seats   (UITCS) were going to, tonight - the play is called   23.5 hours , is showing in the   Park   (where I hadn't been in a   while ), and sounded good and suspenseful.There's a 30% discount with the code 235WB, apparently, although it wouldn't work for me.. no idea why, I made sure I wasn't mistyping it. Ah well. Far enough again to be on the Tube - and I left a lot later than intended, what with the blog, and the weekly timesheet to fill.. I did OK for a seat, getting one after two stops and thereafter all the way. But oh wow - I had to change to the Victoria Line at Green Park . And both station and line were boiling - as was Finsbury Park when I got off! What on earth they're doing with the heating.. anyway, I had intended to eat beforehand, but of course that didn't happen. So I made do with a sandwich from M&S Food , eaten whil...
