Film: Those Who Wish Me Dead

No more outings until after I fly back to the Big Smoke tomorrow (yay!) - but of course, I was liable to find a film on tv. And I did - Those Who Wish Me Dead is one I'd never heard of, but it has Angelina Jolie as a firefighter in the beautiful Montana woodlands, coming across a young boy who needs help and is pursued by two gun-wielding maniacs (Aidan Gillen and Nicholas Hoult). Oh, and there's a massive forest fire to contend with as well..

They were actually after his dad, with whom he was on a sightseeing trip - I never did find out why, but then, I did miss the start, watching something else; perhaps it was explained then. After a while, it seems to matter very little - the main thing is survival against two very able foes. And the action sequences are great! Only thing is, perhaps the pacing at the start didn't work quite right - I felt it dragged a bit. Until the fire takes hold, after which things move quickly indeed.

So yeah, enjoyable, worth a look.

On Monday and Tuesday, I'm thinking film - on Monday I've now booked for Her Story, as it was selling out - it's a decent-looking comedy. Showing in the Odeon Luxe Haymarket - early enough though, so it'll depend on me getting there fast enough after work! Have to make the effort now..

And on Tuesday, I've booked for The Bibi Files - a documentary about the corruption case against Netanyahu, and showing in the Curzon Bloomsbury. Another of my free tickets, yay!

On Wednesday, back with Movie Roadhouse London / The Hideout for their New Year's Social! In the BFI Riverfront Bar as usual - now, someone said there's a good food pub around the area somewhere; I don't remember where, but I've booked The Mulberry Bush, and we shall see!

And on Thursday, I'm back with CT for a play called 10 Nights, at Riverside Studios.
