Bowling: Bloomsbury Lanes

Tonight, we had a work social! Cool.. loving the frequency of them. They went bowling - well, I could watch.. last time I went bowling, I injured myself! In fact, this proved so popular, they had to move to a bigger venue.. we were now in Bloomsbury Lanes. Anyway, therefore I was in the office today - didn't make it in as quickly as planned, and discovered myself deskless; they weren't joking when they said there wasn't enough room for us all! Well, HR kindly asked someone to move to the subsidiary office to give me room.. he knows where it is, I don't!

We schlepped off in good time - funny, as I said, how no-one wants to be the first! I followed others, who had some idea where we were going - we got there in the end. And it's downstairs.. in the end, we had to wait for the HR person who had the booking details anyway. Honestly, I'd have loved to have participated - forgetting that we probably had drink laid on, I took myself to the bar, where I bought a glass of wine that was nicely cheap! I did subsequently locate the free booze, on a side table, where we helped ourselves.

There's plenty of seating around the lanes, handily.. so I was in pole position to observe! Not to mention that we didn't have to change our shoes if we weren't bowling - hey, not even the people bowling were made to do so!

The company had paid for an hour - afterwards, we repaired to the adjacent pizza place, where we were served pepperoni, veggie, and cheese pizzas - I don't like pepperoni, but the others were lovely (we shared, of course). And they brought over the remaining wine, which was nice of them.. Good chat was had, but people didn't stay too late. Still, it was lovely to chill with them! I have my probation meeting tomorrow - here's hoping there'll be many more of these!

Tomorrow evening, back - at last - with London Baroque Music Lovers. We're attending a concert called Lucky Charm, by Ensemble Les Ombres with Fiona McGown, at the Cine Lumiere, of all places! Hmm, I wonder where that'll be - hardly in the cinema! Anyway, we're meeting in reception.

Then I'm back to Ireland for the weekend. Sunday is Mother's Day, so I'm flying back a day later, taking Monday as holiday.

On Tuesday, back with CT at the Americana! This time, it's a jazz night.. which I should get more of an experience of than that magic show.. and this time, I'll know to starve myself beforehand!

Next Wednesday, another of those multi-Meetup socials.. I've signed up with The London Movie Club, and we're off to the BFI Riverfront Balcony Bar again! Excellent venue.

And on the 14th, back again with UITCS - this time, for Casserole, at the Arcola.
